Think it's called Capitol Hill (?) Behind library and near GU.

Looking for places to play that are quiet (no traffic noise or airports).

Well, he can get in his car and drive north on I-95 to play several muni's in the Baltimore area. Pine Ridge is a parklands track built around a huge water reservoir sitting in several thousand acres of woods. Rocky Point is another parklands course sitting on the Chesapeake Bay. Given non-rush hour traffic conditions, it should take home an hour or a bit more to drive to either of those. The courses are in acceptable condition and are not very expensive. My club group played Rocky Point two days ago with the first foursome off at 9:34 a.m. We finished the round in about 4 hours and 15 minutes. Not bad for a public course on a Saturday morning in the middle of prime golf season.

I don't play "in DC" so I don't know... When I go there, my friends took me to play in Reston/Herndon VA area. Most of the time we go south west of Rt 66 to play (45-60 min drive from from Falls Church VA), they told me courses are much better and less expensive

Drive a bit more south to the Williamsburg area and Kingsmill and the Golden Horshoe at the Williamsburg Inn are quite nice. And pricey. When I played them decades ago, my father paid.

Now he could drive north out the I-270 corridor into Frederick County and find some good public tracks like Whiskey Creek. With all the online golf websites now there are usually plenty of decent course reviews.
