It seems clearing cookies forever banishes you from that house of ill repute. I can still log on but I know the day will soon come when I'll be tossing my cookies too.

Based on the new members who all have screen names like 8*%czzzzmyaa and totczny999blast999nosti and the like, I assume that the unwashed hordes have jammed the system and locked most of us out. It is really quite short-sighted of the GR ownership because I figure that site generates beaucoup advertising dollars and these new oxygen wasters are more likely to rob convenience stores and form flashmobs in the Mall to steal video games than actually patronizing 3balls or TGW or the other advertisers. Come to think of it, these site could use some advertiser pop-ups. It might put some dollars in FD's pocket to defray his start-up costs and continuing operating expenses.

My wife and I are friends with a couple where the husband designs websites and is into a few business ventures with partners. One of the sites just went live. He is struggling to make ends meet. People have this idea that you can create a website and get a certain amount of dollars every time someone clicks on an advertisement. That's not how it works. I am not an expert in this area but I believe you only begin to get paid after the number of clicks by web viewers exceeds a predetermined threshold number. Even then, the amount is very small and you need a huge number of visits to make money.

This same friend has told me that the best way to make money on the web is to actually sell a product. He said that those are the websites that make the most money and that are sustainable. I've always wanted to open an online golf store but I've heard it's pretty tough. I like what 3balls has done. It would be cool to have a website like 3balls (that primarily buys and sells used equipment) but also have a review section and forum. Come to think of it, all you'd have to do is open an Ebay store (like 3balls did) and then see if you can add some other content or links to content. Hmmm..

Another Ebay store I visit frequently that seems to be unique is Pawpawscollectibles out of Kentucky. It sells primarlily driver heads and shaft pulls and accessories like the adjustable hosels necessary for manhy of the newer OEM drivers. Occasionally the site will have sets of pulled iron shafts and sets of iron heads. Their volume is crazy high and the prices they get for heads and shafts must really add up. I'd bet the guy must have a contract with some big retail operation or operations to take their broken clubs and then pull the broken shafts and sell the heads. And sell the shaft pulls from stores where the buyers wanted upgrades of in stock merchandise.
