I'll make some juice the night before, kale, spinach, carrots, parsley, celery, apples, some ginger, grapes... whatever I have laying around, I'll slam a small glass with a handful of salt pills then hop in the shower and get ready. On the way out the door I'll grab a mug of the rest of the juice and drink it on the way. I'll pick up an iced coffee on the way that i sip through the first few holes. I like to get to the course early for competitive rounds, I don't really care if I'm playing with buds, but I always have to be doing something once I get there, just like anything else once you get warm you need to stay warm, once I start through my range routine (which is relatively short) I'll putt then chip/pitch till were ready to go. The chipping and pitching is what really get's me ready to roll.
The juice is usually plenty to keep me going for awhile, I also carry a vitamin drink, gatorade, and some easy to digest snacks for the round.
The trick is not to leave yourself too much time, it's easy for tournaments cause you know what time you're going, not as easy for weekend friendly's when you may get out early or late depending on what the course looks like.
There's this 1 guy I play with sometimes and I always feel rushed... we usually end up getting there late, have to rush, he doesn't want to hit balls and rushes me to forgo warming up... There's not much worse for you're game than feeling rushed, whether because of getting to it late, or being put on the clock in a tourney.. it'll mess with your chi.
