My five wood has a regular shaft and I want to know if wrapping some duck tape might firm it up some? Maybe at the kick point?
    Replacing the shaft is problematic.

If you have some duck tape, don't waste it because it is extremely rare, Instead, go to the local hardware store or even Walmart and get yourself a roll of duct tape. Comes in grey and black. Wrap a couple of layers around that shaft. Might not stiffen it much but it will certainly make the club heavier which might help accomplish what you wanted with a shaft stiffening.
