U.S. Women's Open Preview, Pairings, and Discussion Thread

After a week off the LPGA will be moving to the state of North Carolina for the playing of the U.S Women's Open. This is the 2nd of 5 majors on the LPGA schedule.

It is also the start of the most important part of the LPGA schedule. The next ten events will bring us four major championships, the Canadian Women's Open, and the International Crown.

This week's tournament will be #15 of 32 on the 2014 LPGA schedule (the International Crown is an unofficial tournament and is not counted in the grand total).

Tony, I just saw there is an 11 year old girl who has qualified. What a sad state of affairs for the sport that someone that young can qualify. I hope she shows up with US Kids Clubs and makes the cut.
Can you imagine what kind of ballbusters her parents must be?

I saw her in an interview on the golf channel yesterday. She did qualify so she can play. Otherwise, she is a typical 11 year old girl emotionally as evidenced by her interview behavior. In my opinion, allowing her into an event like this borders on child abuse. And I would hate to be one of the players in her Thursday and Friday group.

This sort of reminds me of the J. Benet Ramsey debacle.

IMO , LPGA uses her for advertisement... I won't allow this to happen to my little girl. PGA and LPGA should have a rule "16 or older' to compete... Our brain is not developed at 11 to take the abuse of this high-level skill game
