    At long last....

Post  Big Dave on Wed May 16, 2018 5:20 pm

after countless 81's, 82's and even an 80....

after getting serious about golf this year for the first time in forever...

    after fourteen long years...

I finally broke 80 again.  (cue the band)

Disappointingly, I had a four foot par putt on 18 for a 76 and missed it.

    Fortunately, I didn't miss the 6 inch tap-in.

SEVENTY SEVEN.  I know, I know... but I used to break 80 a lot.  Now I'm old and weak.  I"m a club shorter.  I used to hit 5 iron 185 and 7 iron 155.  Now I'm down to 5 iron 175 and seven iron under 150.  Took me a long time to accept and play those lengths, but now that I am hitting the right club, I'm hitting greens again.  I just can't play long courses anymore.  Driver down to 260 from a solid 290-300.  I"m old.

Nice to recapture youth, even if it's over the same day it began.

Had a couple of sub 40 nines in the three weeks since.. a couple of two and three birdie rounds...  maybe I can do it again before they put me in the ground.  :-)
