    Ladies, Gents, and in betweens..

I have already put the Nike TW "Victory Red" forged blade 4 iron back in the back and retired one gaybrid..

I have now acquired the THREE iron from that set, and retired ANOTHER gaybrid.

the three iron has the Dynamic Gold S300, not the Black Gold S shaft in it, but I hit it as well as any of the others, so I'm going for it.

    I am now bagging --

Soup Bowl Cleveland driver 9.5* (2007 Cleveland Hibore XL)
Calloway XR Pro 14* three wood
    Cleveland gaybrid 16*
    Nike forged blades 3-W
    Cleveland CG12 Zip Groove 52*, 58*
    Some Kind of Putter

    AND and and..

I put a new Midsize multi compound grip on my old Mizuno MP14 one iron and I'm hitting the crap out of it.  I might have to bag the one iron for a few rounds this fall.  :-)

I might be back to driver, 3 wood, irons.  Shades of the 1970s.

    Sex report -- no change.

    As you were.

You must be pretty fit to be hitting that stuff. I'm going in the opposite direction with driver, 4 wood, and two hybrids, 6-GW, 3 wedges and the putter. After years of trying to find a dead reliable hybrid off the tee, tight fairway lie and rough without success, I found two-- Ping I-15 in 20* and 23* with the stock Ping shafts. They were used at the local Golfsmith for like $37 each. I bought the 23* first and took it to the range and hit a small bucket off the rubber mats. Didn't miss one shot in 45 balls. Went back and snagged its sister and I'm set there. I have not been able to hit fairway woods any good at all since 1994 when the enviro-nazis banned metal spikes. So I scored a SLDR 17* with the fixed hosel at the same Golfsmith for about the same as they charged for one of the used hybrids. I did cut down the shaft from 43.5" to 42" and put a grip on it and a bit of lead tape in all the sole crevaces. That one has the stock Fuji reg flex shaft and I can just kill it off a low tee or decent fairway lie. Two days ago I hit a bunker off the tee of a par 5 with my driver and the ball bounced out and stuck just behind the grass lip. The lie was like 25* uphill and I took that 4 wood, choked down a bit, played it back and swung easy. The ball rocketed off the face and left me less that 100 yards from the green in the center of the fairway. Must have gone 230 or so. Damn.

Not fit, never mistake me for that :-) But the gear is very, very suitable to me.. perhaps more than ever. Really good blades, forgiving but very consistent... iron shafts are the TT Black Gold, my all time favorite iron shaft... except for the longest irons I have, the 3 iron from the set and the Mizuno 1 iron, which are both TTDG S shafts and both very very easy to hit..

The Hibore XL three wood, 13*, has an X in it from Fujikura... I"m getting too old to hit it well consistently... now it flies too low and short... so I"ve gone to a Stiff shafted 14* three wood, the new XR Pro from Cally.. it's got a graphite Project X in it, 6.0, and is very easy to hit mid-high and long and straight...

I just have real confidence in the whole bag right now. I"m 56 and my knees are shot, so I've made some ugly looking swing compromises, but I have a lot of high hopes for this fall, when it isn't hell out there.

Good to hear we are playing the same brand of iron, Big Dave. I've got the Nike Pro Combo irons that I believe were introduced somewhere around 2003. Best damn iron I've ever hit (and you know I've hit many). Yes, the old Ping Eye 2s are no where to be found in my bag or garage. I will say this, the new Ping i200 irons look fantastic. I'll never fork over $899 for a set of irons, though.

I carry a lot of gaybrids and sure my game is more consistent
11.5* TM Jetspeed driver - adjusted down from 13* - 80+% fairway and longer , can't beat that
17* HL TM Jetspeed 3W - love it
21* HL TM Jetspeed 5W - still learning
17* 2H Adam Tech OS gaybrid
19* 3H Adam Tech OS gaybrid
22* 4H Adam Tech OS gaybrid
    25* 5H TM Jetspeed gaybrid
    8i-PW Cobra S2 ỉon
50* LaJolla GW - love this club
    56* TW SW
60* fat-ass bounce LW - similar to XE wedges advertised on TV -, this is 20+ old club and I can get out of bunker 95+%, swear...
25+yr old RAM Zebra putter , first love and still

I am playing better with this set , at least much more enjoyable bounce
