No surfing today in fact nothing risky at all. Maybe not even driving. Somewhere some guy's laughing at others being superstition over this and then will be killed in an accident later in the day. I don't want that to be me so I'm taking it seriously. I'm working out of the part of my house that's safest seismically and eating strained food so I'm less likely to choke to death. Maybe I should fast.

    No unprotected sex today either.

It was just 12/12/12 12:12pm in Sh!thole, KY. The local yahoos all shot their guns out of their pickups. I celebrated by gassing up the ride so I can GTFOO in 4 hours.

With any luck, they'll all shoot themselves in their heads on 12/21/12 at 00:01

is this supposed to be the day of the apocalypse? If so, I should have taken the day off and played golf. Might as well get a round in before the world blows up.

No, that's 12/21/12. That's a Friday, which are usually light days for me. Provided the world ends later in the day and the weather cooperates, I will be playing golf.

I propose a global holiday on December 22, 2012. My working title is "Piss on the Mayans Day".

I need an avatar that's a nice shot. Christmas photo?

But today's a bad day to do something that might end up permanent. Although better than 12-21.

I've built an underground fort out of cement blocks in preparation for the end. I've stocked up on bottled water, graham crackers, peanut butter and some other stuff. I installed lights that allow you to grow vegetables amongst other things. I've also loaded it up with plenty of DVDs, DVD player and I've printed out all the GR material for good reading. I can't really think of anything else. My plan is stay in there for 90 days and then come up to see the barren wasteland filled with strange looking creatures. I have no doubt that aliens will be present. It will take time but we will rebuild.

How can you be thinking about an avatar when the world as we know it is about to end? BTW, in the event the world doesn't come to a screeching halt, I'll be in Houston sometime around Jan 22nd. Let me know if you'd like to get together again for another GR match. I might be bagging GFF so look out. Hope all is well.

You've inspired me to take a trip up to Little Saigon today for lunch and some Christmas shopping. It's raining which dumps nasty shit in the ocean so no surf today. Not much to do workwise today, although things can change fast.

Have a first date later at a wine bar. I know, really creative of me.

To be honest, while there are excellent sit downs, my hands-down favorite place is the Viet Namese mall at ground zero. It has a food court on the ground floor with endless stalls run by Moms. To me it defines Street Food although these days that probably derives from food trucks roaming metros.

You can browse endless examples of amazing Viet Namese preps and recipes by humble people that have command of one of the worlds's great cuisines. It's like having 50 Asian Giadas cooking for you. Almost all of them can be charmed...and vice versa.

I totally agree with you here... you can't beat the selections at the VNmese food court, too many dishes to choose from. There is similar food court in San Jose but IMO the food court in S.CA is cheaper and maybe a touch better. Where do U usually go? Phuoc Loc Tho food court? sh$$$t I miss the food there

Asian Garden Mall. I've been to the one in San Jose several times, there's a little less variety but it's still terrific.
