The older I get, the more irony I see in many socio-political situations. Take this fat tax trend in the westernized world, for example. Now I can afford not to have to eat that cheap crap food that contains all that bad stuff, thank God. But millions subsist on it. Why do you think McDonald's thrives? High fat foods are the staple diets of the poor. Now increase the prices of that food and the poor will become more poor and need their dole increased in order to survive. Also, governmental mandates for healthier foods will put a crimp in the overall food supply driving up the prices even further. To the point that there will be no alternative but to let the poor starve. Or, more likely, they will revolt in an attempt to get enough food whether its high fat or haute cuisine. The irony is that the politicians who push these crap measures are voted in by the masses of ignorant poor who don't have a clue that their Governing Heroes are total shit-heels who don't give a damn about anyone but themselves and their wealthy and influential supporters.
I must admit that when I can get out of the office during the middle of the day, nothing pleases me more than to stop at a Burger King and get a plain Double Cheeseburger and small fries for around $3.00.
