Tom Brady took a pay cut so that there would be money on the table to pay Welker, and now the Patriots screwed him.

I'm beginning to hate team sports. It's all about rooting for laundry instead of rooting for people. Hooray for the guys in the right color jerseys.

Boxing has always been my favorite sport, by far, and situations like this tend to remind me why.

I stopped watching the Red Sox when Boggs left, started again, and stopped again when Manny Ramirez left. There have to be players that I enjoy watching. I'm done with the Pats, at least until thay start caring about what the fans think again.

Living in Baltimore, all I've heard for the past few days is how terrible the Ravens are for letting go of all these great players. I am not a Ravens fan since I did not grow up here. I grew up new Philly and am a life-long Eagles fan. The last time the Eagles won the NFL championship was almost a decade before it became known as the Super Bowl. Personally, I could care less about the Ravens but feel that the ownership and management are competant enough to field a very good team by the opening game in less than six months. The Patriots will surely do the same and the Welkers of the world are more readily replaced than the Brady's. One good forearm shiver to Peyton's neck would leave Welker wishing to be back at a lower altitude.

EVERYTHING in USA , IMO, runs like a business machine.... Big boss would try to get the most return of investment, whether it's sport or common companies. I learn long time ago that if we get a signal that we don't belong here then time to move on. NO company expect loyalty from us so there is no "career" with any company. We have to take care of our life because the bosses won't do that for us, they are too busy to worry about their jobs

This could be in the Fort Meade area but more likely on the Eastern Shore. Was living on the ES when the governor of Maryland called it the shithouse of Maryland.

I agree. I don't watch baseball anymore. Maybe I'll watch a few games of the World Series when the Giants are playing but that's about it. Same for basketball. What's the point of watching a team win a World Series when they can afford better players? The Yankees are a joke. I've been told that there are some players on the Yankees that make more money than the entire Houston Astros team. Gee, I wonder who's going to win THAT game?

I guess that's why I like golf and why I think Rory is so stupid for signing with Nike.

Its been a few years since I ventured east over the Bay Bridge so I don't know if those windmills are still on the south side of U.S. Route 50. Unfortunately, the Canopy chain folded almost a decade ago. There was one in Bel Air where I used to work that was only a mile from the office and I'd do a pit turkey and fries at least once a week. $4.99. No deals left like that any more. The building was taken over by some authentic Mexicans who put out authentic Mexican food at what where real good prices but I haven't been there since I left the company in 2007.

We were once coming back from DC at 5am from a Dead concert, back in '71, when the rear tire literraly came off the car. Stuck on 95 in Joppa, Md. Got towed to a local gas station where, at 6am, the guy proceeded to open a cooler of Baltimore's finest brew and offer us 'breakfast' before starting repairs. Can't remember the name of the beer, but NOTHING has gone down finer than that sweet nectar.
We proceeded to load up our cooler with as much as we could fit for the ride home, with a quick stop in New Brunswick, NJ for the once famous Greasy Tonys Cheese steaks. Man, I sure miss that place.
