I've been playing Mizuno MP-60's for the last 5 years now. I love them and when I'm playing well, they are great. Last two years have been struggling. A combo of not enough play time and tendonitis in my elbow. I stopped into Golftown last week after work and tried almost everything on their clearance rack. I had no plan to buy, I just was passing time until my wife picked me up.

I couldn't miss with the Adams Black CB-3's. They felt great, didn't look overly bulky when looking down on them so I bought them.

    River,

That's a great set of irons you just obtained. I was thinking of buying those myself but was concerned about the "old geezer" association that you are experiencing. That's a joke, of course, because these are forged cavity backs with a smallish clubhead and very little offset. The ones I tried had the KBS 90 stiff and felt wonderful. Awesome distance. The only problem I've seen is that the soles wear pretty easily.

Looking forward to Las Vegas if you are still going. Change over of clubs - Adams Black CB-3 forged. Smiley-greet013

I believe it was a set of Adams forged cavity-backs I tried in the Golf Galaxy that had the KBS Tour 90 stiff shafts. Wonderful feeling irons with those shafts.

Funny you mention the distance. I was hitting the 7 iron about 15 yards further than I'm use to. I thought it was just the simulator tweaked to get a sale.

As far as Vegas....I'm actually going down March 21st with my 13.5 year old son and wife to visit Lakeologist (haha). We are then driving to LA for 3 days, maybe more.. (surprise for my son) to see the Lakers on Friday and Clippers on Saturday. I got 7th row seats. He's a huge basketball fan and we've never been to an NBA game. Then back to Vegas for 4 days. We will be golfing. Any affordable places in the LA area you'd recommend?

The May trip might have to wait until another year.

Your buddy was right. Adams is an old man's company only. The guy who founded the company is a sloppy fat guy named Barney. Would you trust a sloppy old fat guy to make clubs to cater to you? Of course not. Your Mizunos are rolling in their graves.

The Adams CB3 clubs I tried in the simulator were awesome. I was hitting the 7 iron 160 to 165.

I've gone to one Laker game and that was back in 1994. It was a very sloppy game and I was shocked at how little effort some of the players were giving. I once went to a Sacramento Kings game and had floor seats. They were playing the Utah Jazz. I got to see Karl Malone and Dave Stockton. Malone is huge.

LA Golf is not cheap if you are looking at playing a resort-type course. Pelican Hill is nice and so is Strawberry Farms. Just go on golfnow and pick something. Why should I help you anyway? All you do is reneg and golf outings. Change over of clubs - Adams Black CB-3 forged. Smiley-sad026

Oh wait, you do. You took a look at the TM rac MB TP 3 iron and about crapped yourself because it looked so tough to hit. Razz

Oh yeah, I'm bagging that - and I can hit it too... be it a trans-continental trajectory or a stinger, and everything in between. tongue

You can game your player's SGI's, color your hair, and take all the boner pills you please. You can't hide from the fact that your golf game is getting close to retiree territory. You're one poorly selected teenage boyfriend away from being a grandfather. Laughing affraid Help

Awww man, I'm sorry FD. I didn't mean to do that to you. You see, I had my 38th birthday a couple days ago and I had to knock the dust off. I was beginning to smell like mothballs. I know you understand... you have experience with this. It was all so long ago for you... Razz

I should probably quit before you become suicidal.

I like my Adams gaybrids tech OS (except I hit them high to my liking, still play them...) and Adams A4 forged irons (sold them because of stiff graphite shaft... I would keep them if they were R-flex, really like the head design, nice and clean but lost 10 yds out of each club due to S-shaft.... I am an old man, not like Mongrel Smile

Adams are a good choice if you are a chopper or over 50. The old fart tour is full of Adams players so they must be ok for feeble has beens with no game and who werent good enough to earn an early retirement on the real tour. If you have game there is mizuno or titleist and nothing else. Fortunately for other OEMs most cant notice the subtle difference.

Not hard to deduce. People who know me would cerainly agree with horse nuts that I am not a hacker. He actually seems pretty perceptive for a guy who appears to lack style. Id bet he would be the type to turn up to a match in cargos, He also seems like a home course bully who beats up on weak fields at his half baked private club.

Dont know this for a fact butt a player gets a feel for these things.

This place needs a good long term flame war.

This one isn't going to be it. But if it improves, my money's on the Kiwi.

I am now substantially over fifty, and it has turned me from a player into a hacker. I could be a player again if I got out there more often, but.. I'd still be playing Adams. I was old even before I got old. :-)

Just needed confirmation, since the GR NaH said he would never come over here and kneel down to FD. This new "Player" seems like a powder puff version of the powder puff NaH. You play on a goat track and guzzle shitty Fosters. Not exactly a glass house you've got there.

You seem to have confused me with somebody else, however this other person is obviously a decemt judge of characteron FD from what Ive seen here. A hacker in total denial trying to buy a game with new clubs. How many sets has he gone through just this year? Epic fail if you ask me. Says something about your game that you rate him so highly.

Original dci gold, 3-pw dg s400. Old school. I know they are a bit chopperish with the offset, but as pure as driven snow in the right hands. I dont understand the apparent pre judgement of new members here though. Its almost like you think you know me.

Id guess 90s, and yes I agree you would be a total hacker using them.

I agree and that's why I would never use hacker sticks like that. I did own the Titleist DCI Blacks back in 1993 - 1994 but I always felt that lacked the feel and asthetics of the Ping Eye 2. The early 90's were one of the worst times for golf equipment. Those were the days when extreme offset was the big fad and in the mid 90's came the fad of oversized irons. Man they came out with some ugly stuff.

You gotta be shttin me FD. The early DCIs are the purest feeling cast clubs ever made. So solid when flushed, and pure ball flight. Not overly forgiving, but not too bad. Im yet to find anything to knock mine out of the bag.
