    TW's Swing Empty TW's Swing

    Post  Pky6471 Thu Jan 24, 2013 8:29 am

I watched "On the Range" show on TV last nite and they showed his swing... still 121 mph SS for driver. What surprised me is that when he hits his iron (can't tell, probably 3i or 4i) the ball is quite forward on his stance, much like he hits 3W...
Watch out, looks like he's mad after the cut last week and he's ready for Torrey Pines

Some pretty good players played the ball off the front foot. Hogan. Nicklaus. And the newest....Mongrel. Been working on it for several weeks. Can't even remember how to hit it the old way it was that bad.

There is not one club in my bag that gets close to the middle of my stance....Not even my putter...

The only time I put the ball in the middle of the stance is on par3s where I try an play a low draw into the hole

Jack taught us ONE thing in his "Golf My Way" VHS tape : he hit all of his iron shots from the middle of his stance... and I remember what he said vividly

I think you better watch it again. Jack clearly was taught and promoted playing all clubs off the inside of the front heel.

Just to be sure, I found Jack's video segment on ball position and right there at the start of the video is "The ball should be played just inside left heel."

I can vividly remember that Nicklaus played golf left handed. Vividly.

I vividly remember watching and routing for Chi Chi to win. I'm sure it's because I was 5 years old and he was the only animated player. Chi Chi appeared to be a lot more fun than the other old man, at least from a 5 years old perspective. Thinking back on it, I'm not sure where any of them put there balls. Those polyester pants were hiked all the way up and very tight.

I also always wondered if Miller had to size his shirts for the size of his head. He's got a big melon.

I'm pretty sure it was Barbara who was left handed. This benefited Nicklaus when he was driving.

I remember watching Chi Chi hit a tee shot on a par 4 in a PGA event just outside Philadelphia in the mid '60's. He had this persimmon headed driver and the head looked like it was 400 c.c.'s. He teed the ball up to with the bottom of the ball about an inch above the top of the driver head and played it well forward of his left foot. He swung so hard that both his feet came off the ground just past impact. The ball carried well over 300 yards. I was a teenager and it was mighty impressive since I was standing about six feet from him just off the right side of the tee box and had an unimpeded face-on view. The guy looked to be about 5'2" tall without the trademark hat and couldn't have weighed more than 115.

    SSSWWEEEEEEEEET!!!

Woods is 3 under. He's just coastin' on the coast. I tell you what, he's ready to pounce. Why he gotta' play with these fools?

Meanwhile, Philly Mick is even par. Dude's in his own backyard, yo'. Can't even hang. Too much time complainin' bout' cash.

Thurston Howell III is in the top 10 again. Dude's got more cash from being in the top 10 than Journey or Foreigner.

Bubba withdrew. What a punk. A man's got the flu don't mean he gotta' take a hike. Shoot.

Tad Ridings and Luke List are in the top ten. Who dat? Luke List? WTF? I guess that cool. Just call him 'LL'.

Dang! Just looked again and Tiger at -4. Same as old man Vijay. You gotta' love Vijay. The man don't give jack about what you think.

Well, now he's four under for the front nine of the South Course and that's with a double. Damn. Wait until he gets to the pitch-and-putt tomorrow.

It will be interesting to see of the old tiger, closer, or the new tiger, fader, shows up in 2013. Last year he played many rounds well on Thursday and Friday only to fade into the weekend.

And there's another one of your paisans right up there on or near the first page. Adam Hadwin. Who has shown some signs of being able to play really well.
