The way Phil hits his driver this week he WILL help sell a lot of Cally drivers. If he continues to drive like this and stays on a short grass he will win this tourney... I was looking for a 58 on first round, that would be very sweet for the golf world

I watched some of it. Phil certainly has it dialed in. Of course that is his turf. I am watching this morning the Euro Tour event in Dubai. Nothing but desert golf this weekend. I can't wait until they get back to playing in temperate climes with a decent amount of trees. You know that trees are ninety percent air. Callaway seems to be signing up all the bombers. I noticed that the Baltimore swimming boob Phelps has received a contract to endorse Ping equipment. This drops my respect for Ping through the basement. Sorry, FD66.

When Phil gets hot with his putter it seems like he can do no wrong. I like seeing him go for everything and have it work out. His game is really odd that way. He'll have a horrible couple of tournaments and then he'll work something out and then shoot lights out. He did the same thing last year when he put a beatdown on Tiger at Pebble Beach.

His swing is pretty loose so I would guess it has mostly to do with timing.

Phil goes with a 9.5* driver and that seems to help him driving ball to a short grass more often... so far, he has had so many chances to set several records. I would like to see him shoot 58 on Sunday disappointed

It's too bad Phil isn't using the new Callaway X-Hot driver. It would have boosted Callaway's sales if he goes on and wins it in historic fashion. I'm liking Callaway's newest line of equipment. I think they're finally on the right track.

Phil gave mad props to that new driver of his during the post-win interview. Larry is probably convulsing in his grave after hearing a hall of famer say that equipment makes a difference.

I can appreciate a good jab at Larry, but Phil is just being a good employee. It's not the first time he has given a shout out to his various sponsors in a post game presser, and it won't be his last.

I think it makes him look bad when he does post round interviews and mentions his equipment. It's too obvious and it makes him look even phonier than he already is. Everyone knows that his win has absolutely nothing to do with the new driver yet he says it anyway, knowing he has a big audience watching and he can manipulate things on his own.

To me, that's worse and shows less class than any Tiger interview I've seen. You don't tout your equipment during a post round interview. You talk about how you played.

Phil just can't help himself. No wonder nobody on tour can stand him.
