So I went to two stores over the weekend to check out Mizuno irons........

    What a mistake! drunken

Being this time of the year and the golf stores not very busy, my guy let me hit every availavle MP iron he had. I tired new 69's and 59's. I tried a few used sets too. Then he stuck a MP58 in my hand and I went to town. Man, I fell in love right there in the hitting bay. He was telling me a guy came in and traded up and he offered him $250 on the spot for the set and he took the offer. Sweet deal, huh?
Now if I could only do the same. Cool Going to go back this week and ask him if he'd sell them to me.

Anyway, I'm looking on epay and I see sets with all kinds of stell shafts. Rifle FCM, Sensicore and Dynamic gold R300 and S300. For a noob like me, this is all Greek affraid SOmeone please tell me what the diff's are? My SS is ~85 w/irons and my index is around a 12. I'm presently playing Adams irons w/ stiff shafts 'cause I like the feel of them and my ball flight is straighter over reqular flex.

I've got alot more demo hitting to go before I do a deal - unless he lets that set go for what he paid.

Your new avatar...is that from Freak Brother's comics? My parents had this book back in the 70's that celebrated new age comics and that was one of them. It had one of the Freak Brothers comics in it and it was hilarious.

    Definately! Most assuredly!

I am a huge R Crumb fan. I have every Zap from #0 on, all Mr. Naturals', and countless other editions like, XYZ Comix, Despair Comix, Fritz the Cat, etc.

Can anyone tell me who Natch's best friend is?

If anyone is old enough to remember when Crumb's comix ran in the Free Press and they were old enough to vote and drive, they were probably too high most of the time to remember any of the actual story lines. All I remember is the pictures.

Haha! lol Laughing Laughing I can still recite verbatim from them. It seems that the older I get, I retain this vast amount of useless information, yet I can't remember what I had for dinner last nite.

R300 and S300 are similar ,virtually the same weight. S300 is very stiff tipped and while accurate, at your ss will not produce good distance. R300 is a very stable shaft that would be right for your ss. Sensicore is just a little insert in the tip of a shaft in an effort to reduce vibration. Does not have a big effect and does not change the performance of the shaft. Rifle shafts are about 10 or 12 grams lighter and you could play either the 5.0 (reg) or the 5.5 (firm). The rifle flighted version are a little softer in the tip in the 3 and 4 iron to produce a higher flight. A good variation for mid speed swingers to launch the ball properly with their long irons.
Nippons have varying weight options; they are great feeling and quite tight (accurate dispersion) shaft that in general play a little soft to flex. You would be quite capanle of playing a stiff flex in those. I have used all these and more so if you want details on a specific model ask away.

I was always more partial to the freak brothers and fat Freddy's cat.
